Traffic signs and signals are an essential part of the road traffic system. Paying attention to traffic signs helps you move around safely and efficiently. There are three common types of traffic signs:

• Regulatory Signs

• Warning Signs

• Guide Signs and Information signs.

REGULATORY SIGNS

 

Stop Sign


Where: At intersections, railway crossings and scholar patrols.

Purpose:
To bring traffic to a stop.

Action:
Bring your vehicle to a stop behind the stop line.
If there is no stop line, the front of the vehicle must come to a stand still in line with the stop sign.
At a three or four-way stop you may not move off before all the other vehicles which stopped before you have moved off.
Proceed only when it is safe.
